When you apply for an advance, we will collect information about you which may include your name, contact information (such as mailing address, phone numbers and email address, length of time at address), date of birth, purpose of the advance, income, employee status and payroll, whether your rent or own your current home and with respect to your new potential home information, value and appraisal, information relating to the advance (how much you need, purpose of advance) credit related information. We will use this information for certified lenders to assess your application and determine your eligibility for an advance. You may be asked to provide your consent to a credit check (see section on Credit Reports below).

If we do not receive a complete credit check, additional information may be collected including your proof of income, your bank account number, proof of identification documents and information regarding your business. We may also collect personal information and references with your consent.

Credit Reports

When you apply for an advance, we will obtain your consent to collected credit-related information from consumer reporting agencies in order to help our lenders determine your eligibility for an advance.

Know Your Client

Breeze may also collect information that allows us to identify you or to meet tax, anti-money laundering and other “know your client” legal and regulatory obligations (e.g., name, Social Insurance Number (SIN) (if provided), date of birth, occupation, and government-issued identification).

Relationship Type Information

Breeze may also collect information that helps us to understand more about you including how you like to do business and what types of products, services or offers you may like (e.g., language and communication preferences, location, demographics and interests).

How we Use your Personal Information

We are not a broker or a loan agent. The personal information we receive pursuant to your applications (including information received from third parties, with your consent) and your online registration will be used for the following purposes:

  • Support lenders to assess your application and determine your eligibility for an advance;
  • determining your eligibility and suitability, and providing you with, other products and services you request;
  • to assess your ongoing needs for financial products and other financial products;
  • verifying your identity and other information you have provided to us (including your identity and bank account);
  • meeting legal and regulatory requirements;
  • detecting and preventing fraud and other unauthorized or illegal activities, including protection from identity theft and unauthorized access to your account;
  • as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.

The personal information that we obtain from you through our surveys and customer research is used in an aggregated, non-personally identifiable form to help us understand our customers and to enhance our product and service offerings.

Disclosure and Sharing of Personal Information

We may share or sell personal information with any company related to Breeze, its affiliates, and with other third party companies with whom Breeze or any of its affiliates does business as permitted by law and described in this privacy policy

  • We may exchange personal information on an ongoing basis with credit bureaus (so they can verify your personal information, ensure the completeness of the information, maintain the integrity of the credit granting system, and cooperate with local, provincial and national authorities in order to protect you and us from fraudulent transactions);
  • Breeze may transfer or otherwise make available, to our related companies, broker partners or third party service providers. For example, we may use service providers to host our Website and operate certain of its features, and communications, as well as to manage and analyze data and our advertising and Website effectiveness;
  • We may also share personal information with third party companies such as retailers, tax preparers, payroll service providers, advertisers, marketing companies, lead generators, advertisers on our websites, companies or individuals that do industry-related research, surveys or polls, automobile dealers, and holding companies, or agents, contractors, or representatives of any of the foregoing entities.

  • Personal information share with us pursuant to your funding application and in entering your cash advance agreement may also be shared with any person or entity to which we have assigned or transferred an interest in your account or any debt or interest due under the terms to be provided in the cash advance agreement, if approved, and/or any of our rights and obligations under the cash advance agreement (including any subsequent assignee or transferee).

Breeze and other third party companies that we share information with as described above, may use personal information for any legal purpose, including, but not limited to, developing and promoting new or joint products, improving existing products and services, and contacting you to offer products and services that may be of interest to you.
